Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation

The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation is a non-profit corporation consisting of a voluntary association of individuals for charitable and educational purposes within the scope of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The mission of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation is to promote the public interest by stimulating and enhancing awareness, appreciation and interest for responsible environmental values and quality of life in Arkansas. This is accomplished through private funding from individuals, private and public organizations, businesses, government agencies and other foundations to sponsor, fund, support and promote activities, programs and events by the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission and its statewide Keep Arkansas Beautiful Community Action Network.

The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of individuals who volunteer their time and resources to operate the Foundation. They are:

Advertising and Promotion

Through an agreement with the Arkansas Broadcasters Association, the Foundation has since 2003 contributed more than $1.25 million in radio and television advertising time to Keep Arkansas Beautiful to supplement media placement. This year-round advertising educates the public about the need for individual and community litter prevention, recycling and scenic beautification. The advertising messages also promote volunteerism in the Great Arkansas Cleanup and Great American Cleanup. This support, along with the program involvement of tens of thousands of volunteers annually, is instrumental in helping Keep Arkansas Beautiful return a cost benefit to the state and its communities of more than $8 for each state-provided program dollar.

Statewide Awards Program

Through the generous monetary support of corporate donors, the Foundation is also able to sponsor the annual Keep Arkansas Beautiful Statewide Awards Program. Almost 30 awards are given annually to individuals, organizations, businesses, media outlets and government agencies from around the state in recognition for their ongoing commitment to reduce litter, encourage recycling and promote scenic beautification through innovative local programs and projects. The annual awards program provides anti-litter advocates the chance to highlight their successes, recognize their volunteers and showcase their unique programs and projects.

We are especially grateful to the following Arkansas businesses that provide the financial underwriting necessary to mount such an extensive awards program. Their philanthropy covers the costs of all the awards, plaques and certificates, cash awards, the awards luncheon venue, and printed collateral materials.

These valuable contributions offer added motivation to thousands of volunteers each year to join in this organized statewide cleanup, resulting in a cost benefit of over $1.5 million annually to the state and its communities.
