Great American Cleanup Youth Poster Contest
As communities around the state began planning their 2020 Great American Cleanup events, the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission (KAB) invites students in grades K – 5 to submit art entries in its annual spring youth poster contest.
The contest is open to all elementary-aged students in Arkansas. Scouts, 4-H club members and home-schooled students are also encouraged to enter. One poster per class or group should be submitted for statewide judging.
Entries will be accepted in two divisions: Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5. Posters must be no larger than 8.5″ x 11″ and can be submitted on any sort of paper medium, including copier paper, construction paper and poster board.
Additionally, classes are encouraged to have their students take the Anti-Litter Pledge provided with the coloring sheet to encourage youth to not litter and to properly dispose of trash in a receptacle. The Anti-Litter Pledge is available here: Anti-Litter Pledge
The winning poster and honorable mentions will also be featured on KAB’s Facebook page. KAB reserves the right to use any poster in future promotional campaigns. Posters sent in for statewide judging will not be returned. Students may want to make copies before submitting entries for judging.
NEW THIS YEAR! Keep Arkansas Beautiful will be displaying the winners of the Great American Cleanup in Arkansas Youth Poster Contest at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Earth Day, April 22, as part of the museum’s Forest Fun – Earth Day event.
Each entry must include the following information on the back: student’s name and grade, school name and address, classroom teacher name and e-mail address.
Entries are due no later than Feb. 29, 2020, by mail or deliver to Keep Arkansas Beautiful, 1 Capitol Mall, Suite 4A-007, Little Rock, AR 72201.
