New Fall Great Arkansas Cleanup Youth Poster Contest
As communities around the state began planning their 2019 Great Arkansas Cleanup events, the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission (KAB) invites students in grades K – 5 to submit art entries in its new fall youth poster contest.
KAB introduced this new youth poster contest to engage elementary-age students in litter-awareness education, to increase involvement in the cleanup initiative statewide, and to educate the public about the importance of a litter-free community during KAB’s fall Great Arkansas Cleanup.
Teachers can utilize the free, printable Great Arkansas Cleanup Youth Poster Contest coloring sheet online here: 2019 GAC Youth Poster Contest
Additionally, classes are encouraged to have their students take the Anti-Litter Pledge provided with the coloring sheet to encourage youth to not litter and to properly dispose of trash in a receptacle. The Anti-Litter Pledge is available here: Anti-Litter Pledge
The contest is open to all elementary-aged, grades K-5, students in Arkansas. One poster per class should be submitted for statewide judging.
The winning classroom will receive a guest appearance by Otto the Otter to their classroom, as well as Otto the Otter swag including coloring books, bookmarks, stickers, and t-shirts.
The winning poster and honorable mentions will also be featured on KAB’s Facebook page. KAB reserves the right to use any poster in future promotional campaigns. Posters sent in for statewide judging will not be returned. Students may want to make copies before submitting entries for judging.
Each entry must include the following information on the back: student’s name and grade, school name and address, classroom teacher name and e-mail address.
Entries are due no later than September 30, 2019, by mail or deliver to Keep Arkansas Beautiful, 1 Capitol Mall, Suite 4A-007, Little Rock, AR 72201.
