Keep Arkansas Beautiful Grants Guidelines

Certification Grant

In order to facilitate growth of the Keep America Beautiful Affiliates in Arkansas, Keep Arkansas Beautiful offers grants to communities that successfully complete certification and are accepted as an Affiliate by Keep America Beautiful.

A matching grant may be applied for at the time of Keep America Beautiful pre-certification training to reimburse the community for its certification expenses. This matching grant will reimburse the community $1 for every $2 it expends in the certification process, up to $1,000. A community will be notified of its selection as a grant recipient only after Keep America Beautiful has approved the community as an Affiliate and grant funds permitting. Cash expenditures, value of donated materials, in-kind services and volunteer time may be used to determine the total expenses involved for completing the certification process and quality for matching grant funds.

Training and Education Grant

To assist in the training of new Keep America Beautiful Affiliate coordinators, Keep Arkansas Beautiful offers grants to certified Keep America Beautiful Affiliates in good standing to partially underwrite the expenses of full-time coordinators to attend scheduled, formal Keep America Beautiful new coordinator training sessions offered in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful national conferences.

The grant will be available to reimburse Keep America Beautiful Affiliates for conference registration fees and travel and lodging expenses for up to half of the total expense required to attend the training, to a maximum of $500 per person per conference. Only one person from each Affiliate may apply for the grant and that person must have the primary responsibility for and perform the duties of the Affiliate's daily organizational management.

Preference will be given to those full-time Affiliate coordinators who have not previously received Keep America Beautiful training; however, any person who is acting as a coordinator for an existing Affiliate may apply for the grant to underwrite re-training expenses. Funds will be approved and released upon submission of a request for travel reimbursement with receipts for covered expenses.
