Providing the Resources Communities Need
As a State Affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, the nation's premier community-improvement organization, Keep Arkansas Beautiful provides the tools and resources communities need to plan and carry out programs and projects to improve the environmental quality of life in The Natural State. From lesson plans and curriculum ideas for the classroom to free supplies for your local litter-pickup event or grant funding for your project, Keep Arkansas Beautiful has what you need to improve the environmental quality and scenic beauty of your community.
Here's what else you can do to protect, preserve and promote The Natural State:
Don't Throw It.
Dispose of trash responsibly. Never toss cans, bottles, fast-food containers or even cigarette butts on the ground, on the pavement or into water.
Don't Blow It.
Make sure items in your pickup bed won't blow out while driving.
Bend a Little.
Pick up litter when you see it and set the right example for others to follow.
Adopt a highway, a street, a park or a stream and keep it clean.
Volunteer to get involved in a local community-improvement project.
A division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism and guided by a nine-member Commission appointed by the Governor, Keep Arkansas Beautiful is funded by 1 percent of the one-eighth-cent conservation tax. The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation, a nonprofit organization dependent on charitable gifts for its funding, provides additional program support.
Keep Arkansas Beautiful works to educate the public about the benefits of recycling and litter prevention, while motivating Arkansans to improve the state through beautification and cleanup programs.
